Summary

Galileo are the true leaders in Whole Body Vibration, they were the first company to bring Whole Body Vibration training devices to market in Germany, 1996. No other brand has invested into the technology and scientific research than Galileo, many of the scientific references made about the benefits of Whole Body Vibration come from Galileo research. The Galileo Fit is their most popular model from their latest generation of machines. If you purchase a Galileo, you can be assured you will own a fine piece of equipment, and expect to receive scientifically proven benefits. The drawback of the Galileo is that it is an expensive piece of equipment, and for such an expense, the support could be much better.

Performance

The Fit scored a total of 96 points, giving it the highest rating Performance badge in my reviews. The Fit has a full, low and high frequency range from 5Hz to 36Hz, and a maximum amplitude of 10.4mm at the edge of the platform. Like all Galileo machines, it has a beautiful smooth action, and his quick to reach target frequency which is shown on the display.

  • 50 points were awarded for a maximum G force of 27g’s
  • 20 points were awarded for a high frequency capacity
  • 10 points were awarded for a low frequency capacity
  • 10 points were awarded for an accurate frequency display
  • 6 points were awarded for the platform size

Science

The Galileo brand has been studied more extensively than any other brand, although since the Fit is the latest in a long line of Galileo products, I am only aware of a small number of studies using the Fit model. Therefore the Fit is awarded 80 points for the  Science badge.

  • 50 points were awarded for the performance pass
  • 25 points were awarded for a research proven brand
  • 5 points were awarded for a research proven model

Company

As mentioned the Galileo brand were the first to market in 1996, so have been in business longer than any other company and score full marks for that. Galileo has clearly advertised specs, substantiated information, and a history of innovation and research and development. Galileo were awarded 90 points for the Company badge.

  • 50 points were awarded for integrity
  • 20 points were awarded for 5 years in business
  • 20 points were awarded for innovation

Warranty

The Fit has a decent warranty with a score of 77 on the Warranty badge. The Fit has a 2 year warranty on labour, parts and motor, the 30 returns policy has heavy penalties with shipping and a 25% restocking fee. Galileo hold parts in the warehouse for 10 years, but in my experience, getting service work done is difficult. It should be noted that these terms apply to Galileo in the USA, and in other countries the terms are different.

  • 50 points were awarded for a Company pass
  • 2 points were awarded for the labour warranty
  • 2 points were awarded for the parts warranty
  • 2  points were awarded for the motor warranty
  • 1 point was awarded for the returns policy
  • 10 points were awarded for parts availability
  • 10 points were awarded for servicing on-site

Support

I have to say, where Galileo do so well in the other badges, support for the Galileo Fit is a little disappointing, it failed at 30 points. Some basic online training resources and a training app is available, a user manual in the box, and that’s about it.

  • 15 points were awarded for online training resources.
  • 5 points were awarded for “in the box” support.
  • 0 points were awarded for courses & workshops.
  • 10 points were awarded for communication.
